I plummed a 90 into my sump on the opposite side of the wall from my 125. I am only running about 500 gph thru it with lots of rock and macro.

FUGE IT! Been running a modded out aquaclear 500 as my refugium on my 37 cube tank for a long time now, constantly trimming back the chaeto. My opinion is that everyone should put the largest refugium on there reef tanks that they can, the benefits are overwhelming!

I got one, great place for small critters to grow and feed the main tank. I love mine, Ecosystem 3012.

There are so many benefits, and I can't really think of any direct cons of having a fuge.

I have a 45 gal fuge for my 90 gal tank. have it split up, 1 section for rubble rock, 1 for macro, and one for skimmer and return. it works well. if you have the room to add one I would. it makes your over all Gallons of water increase which means it will be harder for your parameters to get out of whack.

I like them, I am not sure of the size I have under my 150 , pretty good size. easy to care for. all I can say go for the biggest You can fit under the tank in the stand.

I have a 55 gal. over my 125 reef, with a 55 gal sump as well.

I've built a large overflow into my 'fuge (10" x 12" x 18"h) and put a carlson-type (bell and siphon) surge device inside it. I get a 9 gallon wave thru my tank every 3-4 minutes.
I am currently working on moving it upstairs to increase the velocity thru my reef, and turning the 'fuge into a seahorse corral.

I LOVE MY 'FUGE! sometimes it's more interesting to watch than my reef! It's been running for about 16 months now, and the effects on water quality and algae control are tangible and apparent.

Peace,
koko

No fuge but would like to have details and maybe a pic of the aquaclear. I have plenty of aquaclear filters from my ex-fishroom.
