fuge lighting
lights of america makes a 65 watt coompact flourscent bulb (equal to about a 180 regular bulb), uses the mogul socket. would this work as a fuge light? has a 6500 kelvin rating, I can't remeber what spectrum hair algea grows at. I want to use my sumo as a fuge, & softie frag tank.thanks

That's very simaler to the light I use for my fuges,.. only I have one with a built in reflector (It's a spotlight style). It works very well for me, 6500K is about ideal.

lighting
what do you use for a ballast for your bulb, really do not want to put a floodlight fixture under my tank for a ballast, this bulb does not have a ballast built in to the bulb

Oh,.. mine has a ballast built into the bulb,.. it's one of the floodlight things with the built in ballast. I'm not sure what ballast you need.

Look toward the bottom where he starts talking about the 5100K model,.. I guess that's the one I use now. I used to use the normal spyral one with a seperate refelctor, that was 6500K.
