Frozen Flake or Freeze-dried

Hi Everyone!!
Now that I found out how much and how often you feed I would like to know what you feed and why you choose that type of food?
Ive been feeding mostly flake with freeze dried. I only feed frozen every once in awhile. I had no idea flake was high in phosphates.
Since I have a yellow Tang I do feed Nori as well.
I'm now thinking after the flake is gone to make my own from freash seafood and freezing it.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Patrick

If you make your own, there's no point in adding water. I melt/squish it in the water after letting a few guys peck at it for the fun of it. If a blender doesn't work, try a food processor...works much better without adding anything but seafood and maybe nori.
I do flake in am, frozen in pm just to make sure they get a varied diet.

I use a kitchen strainer, running water over the cube until it's melted. Once it is, I just swish it around the top of the tank. I've heard of people using fish nets for the same purpose. It seems to help keep my nitrates down.

I throw flakes in there just for the sake of doing it once in a while, but use mostly SF bay type frozen cubes. I just throw the dang cube in there, no washing nothing... but thats just me.

I will google it and see if someone close offers it if not I will check with my reef friends and see if they want to order some together that would cut down on the cost of shipping

I had so many different types of cubes around I tossed them all in a blender with a few other things and made my own cubes. This way I don't have to worry that this fish is getting what it needs today and that one gets some in tomorows cube.
I have these little plastic cups (condiment size) and I throw the frozen cube in with some tank water and let it defrost then come back and dump the food in slowly.... give a bit - once they eat it all give a bit more until its all gone
I thought about not putting the water I thaw it in back into the tank but I figured it's only tank water so it can't hurt - am I wrong on that?
