freshwater water question

I'm thinking of setting up a small freshwater cichlid tank and was wondering if using RO/DI water would be bad for the fish since its stripped of all its good stuff or if it would be good since it is so pure?

Any thoughts?

I posted this messege on a freshwater board but fell better about asking you guys.

RO/DI is great but you will need to add back in the proper trace elements and electrolites. The good thing about this is that you can match your water to your cichlid's natural environment. You can find lots of these additives at www.petwhse.com.
