Flow in a 55gal

I just picked up 4 maxijet 1200s to get things mixed up in the tank and had a couple questions.

Would the highflow MJ mod be too much for a 55, would the medium flow suffice??
Should I get the mods for all 4 maxi's and put them in the tank or would 2 be sufficient??

Here's whats in the tank: Fish, anemones, inverts, hammer, clove, birdsnest, sponge and flower pot.

The birdsnest wouldnt mind the higher flow I think but everything else may get a bis POd except the fish. You could do hi flow as long as its not directly pointed at a critter and you dont get a sand storm. IMO you should go with the mid flow.

talon 4x4, a big question...
do you have a sand bed?
what do you plan to keep?

Since the 55 is such a narrow tank flow bounces off walls quiet readily....

I have a 55 mixed reef with 2 mj1200 and 2 mj900's and a sand bed....
well ok 3 mj900 is you count the spray bar.... and a 250ish gph coming from the return pump.

those moded MJ's will blow the polyps off your corals ( jmo)

I have hydors on one 900 and one 1200 adn that varies the flow in the tank uiet a bit... I have mine all at the top of the tank where my sps are since they need the "most" flow and then the leathers are tucked in places where they won't be whipped around.

I am actually suprised by the amount of flow that I do have in my tank with these unmoded mj's. Hope that helps you.

Something else to consider is where the flow is, you can put some of it behind the rock even with sand, to keep things clean where you cant reach.

No BB, I got sand. I also have 2 hydors I could use. Maybe I'll try out one of the medium flow kits and put hydors on the other 2. The modded one at the top front and the 2 with hydors in the rear corners?? And if I can figure a way to pull it off I'll put the last one in my 35 gal hex tank.

Thanks everyone for the info.
