Flourescent Green Bubble Anemone and Clownfish

hello everyone, just got a shipment in from Fla. and in it is our first anemone!! A flourescent green bubble anemone to be exact. My first question is what is the best way to remove this guy from the bag? and how harmful can it be if it stings me??

another question I have is it ok to put multiple species of clownfish in our tank?? I have a Clarkii Clown rather large, and thinking of adding a percula or two ..I have a 90G with 100lbs of LR and 140lbs of LS.. Thanks for any info you can add !!

I would acclimate the anemone to your tanks temp and salinity. It should peel off the bag relatively easy. Just go ssssslllllllooooowwww.

I would not add another clown to that tank, unless it is a small clarkii. Even then it is risky. Adding a perc to a tank with a mature female clarkii will most likely cause the demise of the perc.

Do you mind me asking where in Florida you got your new pets?

it can host clowns, but some are more likely than others. Maybe EC knows about the clarkii, but I'm sure a tomato pair would take to it pretty quickly. Percula or ocellaris are less likely to do so. The anemone itself is not that aggressive towards other fish, though that's not to dismiss a potential of catching something. Not likely, though. It can be rough on other corals in the tank if it's close to them (or moves over to touch them).

Clarkii's are the only clown to be found in all the host anemone species. If it is a BTA/E. quadricolor she'll move in before long. Especially if you place the anemone near the clarkii's favorite hang out.

I wouldn't be in a big hurry for the clown to move in though. IMHO, it's best to allow the anemone to heal and acclimate to your system, before the clown moves in. Especially if you have a large adult female clarkii and a small BTA.
