Thanks again everyone, not sure what the future holds, but it will include a tank.
Thanks Fly, I may take you up on that my son in law has family somewhere in your neighborhood not sure exactly where. I know he said there is a large distributor about 15 min away from his house if that helps.

sorry to hear about your tank i used fwe about 2 months ago succesfully i saw a couple of fw on my glass and didnt hesitate to dose the tank at that point i might only have had a couple hundred as flyguy advised me so i immediatley didnt let it go out of hand, once u get in to siphoning them out i think a quarintine of all your stock is needed to avoid this type of disaster look at the bright side you get to have fun stocking your tank again. goodluck and dont give up this beautiful hobby.

wow, you must've been really infested for it to turn noticeably yellow in a few minutes.. I've used FWE a few times myself with no ill consequences - the writhing bristle worms was seen in my tank as well... but as others mentioned, the FW build a resistance to it... I've used 6xs recommended dosage without causing ill effects on the the tank inhabitants but now am going the wrasse route... there's a few that just are tolerant..
I don't know much about apples so I cannot comment on that.
FWE, even though it has an expiration date, can be from a bad batch..
Sorry to hear about your losses... it really stinks to go through such an experience!

I would recommend anyone planning a FWE treatment have AT LEAST 100% of the tank water volume ready and on hand for water changes. Also, have a plan for massive amounts of carbon in a canister filter, not just a bag of it in the sump. When I did my treatments, I had over 4 cups of carbon capacity in 3 seperate canisters. Two lifeguards and one home made .

Well here we are a couple of weeks later. Most of my zoa's have come back in full extension. My Pipe Organ came back very full, a little dingy looking , not the pristine white daisy look they had before.
One or two snails made it and a couple of hermit crabs.
Still have my Sea Apple and a single blue damsel and a very sturdy Mandarin Dragonette.
I am also seeing some tube worms and the Christmas tree rock came through with great colors.
I did lose a lot of stuff fish and shrimp and many LPS type corals. I am going to use FWE one more time just to make sure. I don't want to ever go through that again. I was more depressed than Britiney

I just got a newsletter from one of the LFS and it is advertising an alternative product to FWE. It's called Flatworm Control by Blue Life. They tout "It is reef safe, easy to use, contains no chemicals or antibiotics and is even veterinarian approved!".
Has anybody used this product? It seems near impossible to get FWE in my area.
Mike.

I haven't used it. But, whenever an LFS tells me a product will fix my problem and is safe, I say "Prove it". "You have a reef tank there, dump that product in your tank and show me it is safe for mine". If they won't put it in there own tank.......

Hey there, I was just wondering what kind of wrasse you went with for your flatworm trouble... I don't mind the wrasse taking several weeks even to clean up the worms as long as it'll do it much more safely than any chemicals would... I'd love a 12 line if that'd work... hope to hear back... Thanks.. Ty...
