Flame Angel HELP get him out!

Reefers,

Anyone have any suggestions besides tearing the whole tank apart? I need to get him out of there. He's picking on my corals and clams! I've tried placing a container inside the tank and putting some food inside. But, so far he hasn't gone in yet. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Reefmann.

Angel fish are always risky and esp Flame Angels. Trying to get them out is a real pain as you well know by now. Short of moving 1/2 the rock to the other side and trying to herd it into the open, you can rig a fish trap or suspend one of those mesh breeding refuges for baby fish and let it get used to it while not feeding for 2 or 3 days then drop food in the net and pull it up when the falme angel goes in for the food. Good luck

Wink

geedoug,

He's pretty smart. He hides when he sees the net. He doesn't go for the trick of eating.
Hmmmm.....Someone mentioned to me to put a small piece of mirror inside a container. When he sees it he will come inside the container trying to fight with his own reflection once inside shut the door on him.

Hope it wasn't to traumatic. Its always a good idea to consider carefully the decision yo add a particular fish or crustacean, esp how to remove it if it dont work out. BTW just speaking in general terms, not pointing at anyone in particular.
