Fixing my salinity

Hi all...
I have been having some problems in my tank...I have tested all my levels and they are okay except for my salinity..it is very high, don't know exactly hoe high b/c it just goes up as high as the tester can go...my fish are okay, but I have lost a few crabs...2 hermits and an arrow crab as soon as I put him in. How can I adjust my salinity so that it will be within normal range?
Please help!!!!!!

Remove some SW and slowly replace it with FW, RO or RO/DI till you get it down to 1.025
Can you have your tester calibrated to a refractometer at the LFS. What type of tester and how big a tank?
OK I see you have a 55g tank. I would remove a quart of water and replace it with FW, slowly adding it into the stream of a power head, or better yeat get it to drip in at about a drop a second. After an hour retest.
Are you sure your reading the hydrometer right. This is a critical parameter so you need to be sure
