I need to catch my hawkfish who is devouring my cleaner shrimps. Is there such thing as a fish trap? Is it possible to build one on my own? Any picture of a fish trap if ever this exist? Thanks

Actually, here is a bottle trap that others have used. You take and cut the top off a soda bottle and glue it back on from the inside. Then you can bait it and once the fish goes in, it probably won't be able to get out...

I just caught my hawkfish using a barbless hook and some squid. It took about five tries because he kept picking the squid off the hook, but he finally got greedy enough to take the whole thing. Done and done.

saltwaterfish sells some traps as well! You put food in it , sit and wait then there is a door you drop closed when the fish goes in.....
usually the fish you want never goes in it
or my starfish come running and grab and gobble up the food!
Other than that it works good!

It basically is a clear acrylic tube with sqare ends on it and a trap door controlled by a string on one end!
