Firefish

My fire fish seem to be pairing up and want to know if it is a sign when one firefish touches the side of the other one with his mouth. They do this three or four times everytime they are out from their cave.

I'm not sure of the pairing rituals with these fish but it sounds better than overt aggression. Keep and eye on them and let is know if they appear tp be bonding

Hi Pat
my guess is love or as the Italians call it amora maybe a courtship of some kind do they share the same cave?

If they do they could be gettin jigy with it behind the cave walls

Do they show any signs they are nipping at each other or dislike each other in any way?

minni mee--no they do not nip at each other in a bad way. I know what you mean by nipping and this is so different. They sleep together in the same cave and sometimes I can see them side by side. Think it's so cool. It's like a person is touching you very softly(seems to me).Like you play tag- got ya -no got you now sort of thing.LOL Well they are out now and want to enjoy them while I can. Thanks for the info.

I got home from the hospital and gotta look at my fish! They still touch one another -seems like even more. For some reason they will stay in their cave for hours during the day but when their out they are touching one another like crazy. I hope it is a "family affair", that would be cool.Does anyone know yet what this could be? Thank you.

Actually fire fish have been spawed in captivity. I don't know all the details but the breeders registry has the info.
