A quality RO/DI unit will be fine.

Yup But if it's well water, you won't have any. Worse case scenario is that the well water is really hard or dirty and you will want to add a softner to your home and/or a couple sedimate cartridges to your whole house. Easy to do both and both will help the RO/DI system

Yes. Depending how things are plumbed from the well to your faucet, may determin whether you need a booster pump or not. The first house I owned was on well water and I only had about 25psi at the tap. So I needed a booster pump.

If your lfs has a meter and they should, get them to test the well water. I have a very deep well and it test 2 according to them and said I really didn't need to get ro/di water from them anymore. My city water was nasty and didn't dare drink or use it in my tank. I got fed up with dealing with city water dept. got my well fixed and took the water to get tested. Last think I expected to find was it was pretty pure. Never will pay for water again. I took the water in to find out what kind of ro/di unit to buy but they said I didn't need one. I do still plan on getting one later just because 0 is even better than 2, but for now I am spending money on the 175 so I can get it running.

I would still run a RO at the least with well water. Being fed from underground streams and everything else, it's hard to say what hard metals and impurities it may pick up along it's journey
I'm just one of the safer than sorry kind of folks
