Can a file clam move itself? I have one and it has gone from being ontop of the rocks to down, over, and half up- into a crevis in the rock. If they can move themselves should I leave it be? Are they like a sea ann and find a spot to their likeing?

They can "swim" by opening and closing there shell, thus making them quite mobile...I have one that seems happiest when it's behind a rock and can't be seen!

I am pretty sure they can move. I would leave him or he may keep moving. If you want him in a certain area I would try to relocate the situation he moved to.

Well it seems to enjoy its new spot. its out of the light but at least its still in the front.
