Feeding Anenomes

Ok the question has probably been asked a thousand times but I cant find it in the archives anywhere. Can you overfeed an anenome, can you feed them squid and once theyve lost colour (started to bleach) can you bring em back to life?

Currently running
Fluval 205 (1000lph)
Powersweep (350lph)
Powerhead (600lph)
Skimmer (1200 lph)
175 watt metal halide

Cheers in advance!

squid is a no- no. something about the way it breaks down and how stringy ( lack of a better word).
the bleaching is a loss of the zoox. that is helpping feed and give life to the anemone. increasing the lighting to it should help.
what size tank? how long set up?What type of anemone?

over all the feeding of anemones is not really needed ( depending on the type) , if you have fish in the tank and use a blender mush to feed them or feed your corals any type of liquid food , it should and will feed the anemone also.
picture?

Sounds like you have a sebae? I had a bad experience with one, and am waiting til the tank is more mature before I try again... Lots of people here will help though - Skeety is the sebae expert and has a webpage somewhere detailing how he brought his back to life. FrankandMaura started a thread as well not that long ago that should answer all those questions....

Ok its a purple tip anenome. My tank is 20gallon (90litres) As for the squid there goes the credibility of the lfs owner (that was his recommendation). The tank has been running for around 2 yrs but crashed approximately 4 months ago. (Due to my son tipping a whole container of flake into the tank).

I spose the biggest problem is hes attached himself under a rock and doesnt really get much direct light from the MH either. Ive tried moving him but he always seems to go back to the same spot.

I used to feed mine shrimp and they were fine with it. I have 2 400W MH's so I've realized I don't need to feed mine and it is still really healthy. Be careful of any recommendation from the LFS. They are usually looking for a sale. Is the anenome getting blasted by your powerheads? Maybe that's why he keeps ducking for cover.

My fairly large condi moved a couple of months ago from his happy perch to the low side fo the same rock. Hes been there for two months....still totally inflated and happy looking. It appears to tick of his false perc a little bit though, doesnt look near as comfortable as he really cant rest in him...he just rests against him. lol
