feeding

I was wondering. Do I feed once a day or twice? I am currently using these little cubed containers of a shrimp. I'm feeding 3 Chromis and 2 Hermit crads. All are pretty small.

Are you feeding the entire cube? For that kind of bioload, I'd probably only use about 1/4-1/2 a cube per day, split up into two feedings if you want.

I personally think feeding 1 cube twice a day for that bio load is perfect.

feeding amount is irrelevant. it is how quickly the food is removed that is important. and i am not talking about by the critters.

i always say a fat fish is a healthy fish, with that load of fish i would say 1/4 cube twice a day should keep them nice and thick.

What are the different cubes you use geoff? Personally my feeding goes this way with a lion, 2 damsels and a clown. Day 1 1/4 cube formula 2, 1/3 cube formula 1. Day 2 3/4 cube of mysis day 3 off and so on in a 3 day cycle. Its easy to tell when my lion wants to eat though. I was always told to lean towards less feeding oppossed to too much.

right now i only have 4 fish. white cheek tang, blue jaw trigger, and 2 barred flagtails. they are all super pigs. i feed 1 cube of either (mysis, Emerald Entree, Marine cuisine) with a small chunk of Cyclopeeze. i use the small San Francisco Bay brand cubes. i did not like the Formula foods, they had a lot of preservatives in them. i then break off two chucks of frozen whole krill. this is done everyday. i need to start feeding another cube at night. my crinoid is looking a bit smaller than it was.
