feather duster


does anyone know if the crowns of a feather duster will grow back? i had had a puffer for a day and he ripped a chunk out of one of my feather dusters crowns. just curious if this will grow back of will it be at this less than perfect look forever??

They grow back. Feathers have been known to drop the entire crown and grow a new one. No worries.

Yikes! I would be careful about having a puffer in your reef tank. I'm not sure they are reef friendly.

Im pretty sure they are NOT. Awesome fish though.......

Definitely at the top of my list should i ever starts a fowlr tank.

Although, i do recall recently here on trt hearing something about one certain kind of puffer that MAY be ok ....sometimes...

anybody remember or know???

that would be the spotted toby puffer, which is the one i had. but just my luck, of course he was not friendly because i just couldnt have that luck. But either way he is no longer with me, so now the duster can regrow in peace

yeap mine shed its crown and it grew back in a week but its been like two months and it is still about half the size it was...
