Fan on sump worked!

I finaly found a fan for my sump. In a matter of 2and a half hpurs the temp dropped from 85 to 82. Ill check it again again in the morning and then figure the heat cycle. The fan is a 9 inch from Wall Mart for $3.50!!!!

let the temp slowly drop to about 79-80 then set your heater there

Put the fans on timers to go off with the lights. Leaving them on over night might result in a chilly tank....not that I've ever done that, or anything.

Seems to be holding at 82. Ill give it over night. I had originaly set my heaters at 79, theyre still there just havent hed to turn on but once. Gonna get another fan tomorrow for the canopy.

Computer fans work well in hoods.

i have the same $3.50 9 inch fan on my 10 refugium they work nice but mine will evaperates about a gallon to two gallon a day but hey temps are down. do a search on ebay for computer fans i just bought 4 fans for under $15 includes shipping they will be here to day. ebay has more computer fans then you will ever need there are thousands to chose from.

Temp has stabilized at 82.3 in the tank and 83.2 in the sump. I want to drop it a couple more degrees to give myself a larger cushion in the event of a problem. Heres my plan; going to get som computer typ fans (two) to ventilate the stand since it seems to hold heat. I am also going to place a fan in the canopy. The back of the canopy is mostly open to allow room for plumbing. Im thinking the main problem is the lack of ventilation in the stand.
Thoughts, opinions?
