False Percula Clown Fish Max Size..
Hello,
I've seen many articles stated that a False Percula Clown Fish will grow up to 3.5".. But some ppl suggested that their clowns grown over 4"? and the males are only stay small about 1.5"?
Is this sound right? False clown owners please post your fish size here..
Thanks

How long does it take them to reach that size? I've had my pair for over 3 years. The female is still under 3" and the male is just about 1.5-2". They were about 1" when I got them.

No...I don't want them to get any bigger. I hear the Jaws theme music in my head when I stick my hands in the tank. They're fine to hand feed but the little $#%@!#@ male turns into a pirhana any other time.

I hear lots of people talking about theyr fish biting them when they stick their hands in the tank...I have never even had a fish get close to me (in the 7 months the tank has been up). Are all of my fish just scardy cats?

7 months...wait until they've been in there a few years...you'll start hearing the Jaws music in your head too. I got the false percs because I had heard too many horror stories about the Maroon clowns being super agressive. I think they're all agressive when it comes to defending their territory.
It's not so much that it hurts when they nip, sometimes it does depending on where he bites, it's just that you know it's coming, but you don't know when. I have to work with one hand in the tank and the other hand on the net to chase the clownfish off. My wife thinks it's funny but do you think she'd offer to run deffense with the net?...noooooo, she'd rather sit back with popcorn and watch a little fish chase my hand all over the tank.
Suprisingly...they go after laser pointers if you shine it in the tank too. It's almost as much fun as making the cat run around in circles until it gets dizzy and can't stand up.

My clown was the most peacefull fish in my tank for year. It has since taken to hosting in my open brain and protects it for all he's worth. Nips me every time.
