False Perc Gorged

I have a Fasle Percula Clown that LOVES to eat. Especially Cycploese. I wonder if something is not right with him though. He will eat until he cannot swim. His gut gets nice and fat and then he struggles to not float to the top. Has anyone else seen this?

My clown does the same thing, infact so do my tiger barbs in my FW planted tank. They gulp a big bubble of air, then struggle just to stay down for a while until they either belch, or fart (yes I have seen my fish fart )

Easier said than done. I'd have to catch her to cut her food down. She just eats faster than the other fish. This actually just started in the last couple of weeks.

My clowns will eat as fast as possible until the mysis are hanging out of their mouths... then, they keep trying to eat! feed little by little and hope the other fish get some more.

I have heard that clowns will eat themselves to death. The eat too much then explode. My clowns stomachs get fat but that is their one feeding a day. They never have trouble swimming though.

She seeems to have an issue with swimming to the far left side of the tank. Maybe I will start feeding on that side so she gets there last. She does have a mate, but he is smart enough to not eat so much.

yea be careful with that, thats called swimmers bladder. I would try not using food that floats anymore, It is true that most of the time that they will pass it, but if they cant it can be fatal. At petsmart where I work our larger goldfish always get it, the only cure we have found is to feed them mushed up green peas, the frozen ones from your Local grocery store will do. Somehow that gets rid of it?
