false clown down

just when i thought he might make it my clown died.he just went to long with out food. i gues that even thoe he started eating it didnt matter anymore.bummer.talk to ya later.

Sorry that the clown died. It actually probably had more to do with stress and less to do with food. Hopefully you can get things worked out.

I've had one clown in the past two weeks die. I've had a pair for quite some time. I have no idea why either. It started by heavy resperation and not eating. A few days later the first one died. Now the second one is doing the same thing. The only thing I've done different with the tank is bump up the alkalinity, but this was done very slowly. I also have anthias in the tank that along with other fish are doing fine.

I am not an expert on all of this, but I have heard some say that heavy breathing and such is the signs of low oxygen. Do you run a skimmer or have a powerhead aimed up top to help oxygenate your water??? That *could* be the problem.
