Extreme tank makeover (pics)
it all started with a phone call sat. , our buddy had grown tired of "the natural look" and requested some assistance, truth is he got busy like we all do, but then wanted to make a turn around before it was to to late,
"scuba namena" and "tyson" to the rescue.
we got together a gameplan, gave him a supply list, and headed over.

If you can sell that by the pound, you would have some serious jack.

i like the inwall tank look alot and its a nice setup using the space under the stairs as a fish room, but that makes it hard to see what your doing, so its a bit of a challenge doing any type of aqauscaping or coral placement, let alone taking out all of the rock!

that was a lot of hair algae scuba should be posting some after pics tommorow and were getting the owner of the tank to sign-on and post some more pics. even though we got alot accomplished on saturday we should have a couple more trips to make (water changes etc...) so i would expect a few more pics of the "makeover".

While you guys have the hair algae scrubbed down real short, I would put a ton of astreas in there to keep it that way.

there is a fine example of a phosphate problem.
you might want to go BB for a bit in order to let the LR purge itself. having it BB will make it easier for you to get under the rocks to get the detritus out. it will prolly take several months to cook the rock in the tank, but can be done. when the detritus buildup becomes manageable you could put sand back in the tank, just make sure the LR is suspended above the sand to keep the uber hair attack from happening again.
what kind of skimmer?
