And the update. Not a whole lot of difference, but it's still chugging along.

As promised. Last time.
This week.
So this grows a little slower than the birdsnest. I think I may back down to monthly updates, but maybe I'll dump them a little more often.

Very nice growth. crvz, are you getting great growth with the T5's? I'm noticing very nice growth with them.

I love these threads man - they give me something to compare to once my build-off tank gets rollin. Keep it up!

Having the mother here its interesting to me to see all of those smaller branches sprouting off of the tips as yours is.............its quite a different growth pattern than anything the 8" x 9" mother shows anywhere......

Wow... Chris... you really have it that far from the T5s? I have been afraid to place them that far from mine... if they can be that far down in the tank, it opens up a whole new level for SPS!! Can't wait to see how this one does for you.

Yup, all T5. I've never had Metal Halide lighting, so I'm not sure how it would compare, but I've been plenty satisfied with the setup that I'm using.

I give it regular shots of B12 and cortisone, nothing stronger though. A lot of corals that I get do that, though. They'll only grow from one or two spots from the original frag, and then those will take off.

Maybe you can see for yourself! I've got the lights a little more than 6" off the water, and you can see where this little frag is. Clearly, quite a ways from the lights, I'd say about 20" or so (for those that follow the green birdsnest thread, that coral is above and to the left of this frag).

I will say that I think the bb and t5's vs sand and t5's is quiet amazing.
I got good steady growth with my t5's and sand bed, but in the short few weeks that I have taken the sand bed out stuff seems to have exploded. I have sps on the bottom of my tank, and they grow well too... depsite my carbon issues.
