Exhaustfan timer settings
Ok I have a kinda In-wall tank and the sump is "remote" in the room behind the tank.
I was getting alot of moisture in that room and the stuff we store in there was getting ruined.
I installed a small bath fan above the sump and piped it out the side of the house.
I do not want to ruin the fan nor pay for it to run all the time and suck all the warm air out of the house this winter or cool air in the summer.
I was going to put the fan on a multi time via my controller. I was thinking about 5 mins every hour.
Do you guys think thatwill be enough to keep the room dry?
The room is about 10x14

Probably not... In the winter I have to run mine between 2-10 minute intervals and 3-10 minute intervals. But it really depends on your system. I run upwards of 78% humidity in the winter and have the fan kick on to knock it down to about 50% and I still have problems with metal stuff in the wetroom such as the fan, RO/DI bracket and various electrical components. And in the summer I run it 24/7 just because the tank's cooling fan runs so much.

Your fan wouldn't last long that way(to much,on and off),why not hook up to a stat that,s for humidity.

I already have the 110vac bath fan installed and ducted out the side of the house.

The 12v systems are both ecologically more acceptable, safer to use around saltwater (not may folks die when a 12 V muffin fan shorts out as opposed to 115V AC), less expensive to acquire and install, and is cheaper to run. If you want to use the fan you currently have, check with the guys at Granger or Greybar for a humidistat with a load capacity to match your installed fan. You can get digital units, but price starts to become a factor (+ $200 USD), see: http://www.kele.com/templates/produc...FSNQagod0zqQjQ for units up to those capable of running whole-house setups.

The humidstat killed the first two bath fans I was using... Too much on/off. I've had better results and longer life of the fans by using the timers (Aqua Controller). Just my 0.02
