ever put a coral on a fish?
Get this..... I was putting in my new brain and I didn't realize that my lawnmower blenny was right in the spot where I was gonna put the coral. Given his stubborn nature he did not move and squash goes the blenny! He is okay of couse, just though it was funny and had to tell everyone. I have never seen a fish so stubborn and mad when you put things in his tank. You can not put something in the tank without him checking you out and watching every movement you make. Its hysterical. when I move some stuff he swims up and bites me all the time. He truely is king of the tank.

casey, will yours go out of his way to try to get your hand out of the tank? He will literally swim 6 feet to get my hand out of there. It's awesome.

When I put my hands in the tank, he will go right up to my hand or arm and look at it...very, very close. Never touches it, but sits about an inch away and stares at it!
I find myself saying "What are you looking at, tough guy?"

Those blennies are the best. I have a starry blenny that lets me touch it when he's sitting on the cleaner magnet and one time he even sits on my hand for a while! I'm trying to hand feed him everytime but he have plently of food in the tank for now and making him eat prepared food is a little difficult. In one of the LFS I frequent the owner have the same blenny and whenever he puts the hand inside the water the blenny swims and sits on his hand like a baby.

Lawnmower blenies do have a lot of personality.
Unfortunatly I have killed two. One jumped out of my tank and I could never find him, he landed behind the return pump and I never saw him.
The second one I keep for 2 months until he decided he was not going to eat anymore, this was unexplicable because I did not have any big or agressive fish only 3 green chromis and they pretty much left him alone. he starve to death.
It will be a while before I want to try anotherone but they are cool fish.

how far along was your tank. I waited till I had an abundent source of algae for him to graze on. you gotta see the belly on this guy. We call him "king blenny" because of his crown of seaweed and fat belly:

I have not squished any fish with a coral but i do have a fun story.
I bought a fish store that my associate was running in his garage and in the process of moving all of the critters i scooped all the sand out of the FO tanks into buckets. I was in a hurry so i didn't check the sand too much. After taking the buckets home (45 min drive in the open back of my pickup on a cold rainy day) i was checking stuff as i placed it in the garage and i opened this one bucket and there sitting patiently on the top of the sand in a 1/2 inch deep puddle was a yellow wrasse! he looked at me... I looked at him... and then i promptly ran him across the complex and into my apartment where i had to just drop him in my tank and hope for the best. he did fine after that. I also found a red pistol shrimp in the LR bin (which we moved full of LR under the same conditions) and he made it in ice cold water and without being crushed.
