Emerald Crab...
I'm thinking about getting one...what all do I need to know? How do you take care of them?
Furthermore, I have about 40 lbs of live rock in my 46 gallon bow-front. I'm just gonna stay with live rock and fish...no corals. What type of lighting system is recommended? I do have a limited budget.

Lighting? For your tank it doesn't really matter if you have no corals, I would go with some sort of 50/50 NO fixture nothing expensave, just the lighting hood that came with the tank with a good looking bulb.
I have 2 emereld crabs, I just sortof through them in there, I don't really do anything to/for them.

are they shy?
They won't eat anything I feed them...so I'm curious as to if I'll ever see it if I buy one.

the first few days mine stuck to some holes in the LR but now they are scurrying around like crazy as for feeding them i have put some brine shrimp in and they dont eat it at all. They will find there own food on the LR( u can see them using ther claw and grabbin stuff and they just put it in their mouth). I happen to think there a great addition so i would get 1

I had two that suddenly started fighting to the death. Really strange. The only thing they ever bothered was each other.

i see mine all the time as well. but hes always in the rocks. after my bubble algae was gone, i started feeding them some algae strips. i have a feeding stick that i use to put the small piece of algae close to him, and he comes and gets it. i have had the lone surviving male for over a year. hes never been a problem. the main thing is the are opportunisticfeeders. if they are hungry they will eat what they can find. feeding them seems to make them not hunt as much from my experience.

I have one, I don't do anything special for him, and I see him eating alge and other things of the rock, with no obvious detrimental effects. He is a bit shy, as he hides between rocks during the day, and is more active at night.
I think he is great, but I don't have two of them, and I have seen fish very near him, and they don't seem to mind each other. In my opinion, go for it.
