I have 5 of those in the tank - they are giant browns and the average size is about 8". You can feed them - neat to watch them close up, just like an elephant ear shroom. They do stink when out of waterDon't worry - you have a lot in no time - if you feed them

Cathy, you mean you guys dont use miracle grow? heheh jk/

Ya, wannareef, I was really trippin out when I saw it close up for the first time, very cool to watch!

This makes me think that it would be very helpfull to all if we had some kind of archive so people can find out how big certain species can get, would REALLY help nano guys, seeing how this guy would take up about a 1/4 of there tank!

I would like to frag it, but after I fragging some of my greenstripes , it took my tank about a week to recoup. My pink pulsating xenia, and tonga zoos are really sensitive to mushroom toxins, especially seeing how its all in a 55g, I just gotta figure a better/cleaner method. But ya, I definately think hes ready!thnks for the comments.

oh btw, my subject is a Saturday Night Live reference. Nicholas Cage played "tiny Elvis" he was about 3inches tall and everything was huuuuge!

When you frag - just do it outside of the tank. Just use a bowl of tank water to hold the coral, another bowl to dip it in after the cut then back into the first bowl. Then into the tank. GARF fraggn 101

Measured my neighbor's 'shroom last night... 10.5 inches.
They don't want to frag it. I think they're going for a world record.

no , its not an elephant, those are a lil less bumpy and more of a smoother surface than this rhodactis. Not sure about the potency of there sting if any, cuz occasionally my lawn mower blenny kicks back right next to it and sometimes on it,

but ya, it closes up around food just like one though, Im thinking that might be a trait for all rhodactis, cuz i have a green mushroom rhodactis(that looks more like an elephant ear) and it will close up to around food just not as readily as my one that I have posted.
