eggs in my shrimp

I was checking out the tank the other day and noticed that my cleaner shrimp has green eggs (and ham) in it's belly. I have another cleaner shrimp with out eggs. does this mean that I am going to have lots of cleaner shrimp?

Let me know

Fred

Hi Fred! New job keepin ya busy?

If it's anything like the peps, it'll just mean that you have to feed everyone in the tank one less day.

yea, pretty much you are feeding the system. every now and then some will survive. most crustaceans are planktonic breeders. the more efficient the skimmer is the the more likely you will not have baby shrimp.

Ya the new Job is great but keeps me busy. That and I am still ajusting to the new schedule. The change from afternoons and midnights for three years to day shift is killing me.

Regarding my shrimp's is there any way to tell when they will be released into the water. and should I shut the skimmer off to see if they make it into the Refugium?

From my experience with my cleaner shrimp, the time they would release the hatchings is at night when the water is a lil warm, around 79-80 degrees. It's a hard work keeping the shrimp b'coz it's food to my fishes and some of them would get suck in the skimmer. Some of them would hide on the rocks. Goodluck keep em. I'll see if I can find any pics of mine when the shrimp relased its hatchings
