Eels Eels Eels Eels Eels Eels Eels

Hey everyone , how are you doing , i just joined this board today and wondered if there was any eel lovers out there , i have a 55 gallon salwater tank , and i have a 8 inch snowflake eel in it , i love him to death , is a 55 gallon aquarium ok for him to live in , someone told me it was big enough however i have had people to tell me that it isn't ,

If any of you like to talk about eels and stuff my msn messenger is kirtis_m@hotmail.com and aol is kirtism and email is kirtis_m@yahoo.com

And also anyone want to post picture of their eels ???
also

ANYONE KNOW OF THIS I have heard that Ribbon eels are very very hard to keep, cause they are picky eaters, have any of you ever had a ribbon eel, i would like to have one but it is out of the question cause i already have my snowflake and i dont' want them to fight, one of the petstores said they had one that would eat really good but the others wouldn't , they said it got to be like 3 feet long and was pretty blue with a long yellow fine running down its back, they said the sold it and it jumped out of the guys tank that nigh , MAN I WOULD FEEL TERRIBLE that happening after paying $150 for it , anyway i was just wanting to know if any of you have one , caue right now that one and the tesselata are my favorite eels

has anyone out there ever had a tessata moray eel, i would like one of these but the need an aqaurium of at least 200 gallons

The only experience I have with eels is with Rhinomurena ambionensis back in the 70's. IME they are not good tank candidates, they have a lousy survival rate and any LFS that tells you other wise must have ran a credit check on you, They are out for your money

WOW very old posts..

Welcome to TRT!
here is a little reading in eels for ya.
as for the smelt.. not sure if you can order it on line. you might try a local bit and tackle shop or ask you local LFS if they can order it or get something close to it,

i take it back you can order it from here, although i think you could switch over to something elae if they are eating this..

Make sure you have a good cover no matter what Eel you have. I have seen many eels dried up on the floor because they climb out. 55 should be ok IMO.
