I was wondering if anybody here has set up an EcoSystem type filtration system for there tanks. I have read all the information on it that I can get my grubby little mitts on. But I don't take testamonials for a product from a web site used to sell that product. This system seems to have many merits and looks as if it could be a good DIY project. I like the idea of allowing algea to clean the water for the display without the use of a
protien skimmer. Skimmers are good at what they do but they strip beneficial elements from the water as well. The claim is that the EcoSystem method will render the same clear water without stripping the water of good elements. I was also wondering if you could use LR rubble in the place of bioballs. The balls are used for
mechanical filtration and I was toying with the idea of using the rubble to give the filter a little added kick.
