easiest way to catch a snowflake eel

I have a snowflake eel I want to get out of my tank. The problem is it's a 125 gal tank with 170.lbs of LR. How do I get him out without disturbing my rock and coral???

If you have a big enough net, try putting his food in it to feed him. May take a few days but he will figure out if he wants to eat....anyway get him used to the net and if your quick enough you may be able to net him that way. Worked for me hopefully it will work for you.

Tiny hook....like catching fish in a bucket....

I am half serious....tiny barb-less hook might do the trick...

I capped off one end of a 2" PVC pipe, just a little longer than he was, and put his favorite food inside. When he entered, I covered the opening and pulled it out of the tank. This was after about 2 weeks of trying everything else and failing, miserably. I tried the whole Crocodile Dundee thing, by luring him out with some food so I could grab him. All this did was provide entertainment for the rest of the family. They are WAAAAAAAAAY faster and slimier than they look.

I have done the hook before on a Domino Damels. But my tang kept eatin the bait. I used a #16 hook and some myris shrimp. I think for a eel you would have better luck though. i use the rod on my blinds as the pole. Worked good.

I want him out because I'll like to get some cleaner shrimp. Plus I have 3 clowns and I heard when the eel get bigger it could easily eat them. Plus I never seem him and it takes about 10 min to feed him at night. anybody want him in the milwaukee area can have him for free.
