Dwarf tang?
Is there some type of small tang or a good vegan eater that can live in a 38 gal reef. I am starting to have real problems with plants of all sorts taken over and even growing into some (one) coral. It's getting to be a problem.
HELP!!!

Even the smallest tangs are not going to be happy in a 38 for very long. If you have that much algae growth you will be better served addressing the nutrient issues rather than trying to get something to eat it(eat=fish doo=nutrients still locked in system )_

lawn mower blenney, tuxido urchin, red leg hermits. Also physical removal and reducing nitrate and phosphates in your system.

Concur. Often you'll find that those " algae eating fish" don't really enjoy hair algae, which is often the plague of our aquariums.

Well the tank doesn't have fish in it. Just a dragon face pipe fish which lives off the pods. As feeding goes, just oyster eggs, phyto, and cyclopeeze.
The tank is just corals.
The tank is a combined two tank downsize in which both tanks were over 3-4 years old.
Wattage is 456 watts with 2 halogen and T-5 lights.
I heard of dwarf tangs. Must be a myth.
Biggest problem is the bubble algae.

the smallest tangs that I know of are the Scopas and the Bristletooth
both would not be happy in a 38 when they reach adulthood
