dudes I just invented another cool thing ....

In my article "Dudes ... I just invented the coolest thing" One problem was the heavy detrite was not completely lifted out by the bubbles .... so.....

I installd a "Y" pipe in my 1.5" return line .... one leg goes to the normal overflow skimmer and the other leg now goes to 15' of 7/16" tubing.

Stick one end of the tubing in the tank, start the siphon, quickly jamb the other end down inside the "Y" pipe and voila! ... central vac for your reef!

Using your stylish "orange and purple" gloves, (or the hose end attached to a piece of pvc pipe, as someone mentioned in my other article - (try to get out of the habit of sticking "you" into the tank ... too many risks of infection, or in my case ... getting nibbled by momma clown) manuver the tubing around the tank and suck up the big detrite that would not lift out (or even that mean yellow tail damsel that chasses everyone).

All of your days catch will be waiting for you in the sock down in the basement.

Neet huh?

When you get things together you really need to post pictures of this setup for the rest of us. We want to see exactly what you have done here as well.

Especially if it involves possibly being able to keep my hands out of the tank. I am starting to become a bit paranoid about getting another infection now.

Finally ... the pictures!

Ok ... I did my cleaning yesterday and took a few pictures.

I stuck them in an album here:

If you hold the power blaster up to the return vacuum hose it will start the siphon for you ... no mouth necessary! ... how cool is that?!?!?
