Dont know if I did this right

Yesterday I posted a request for help about getting my coraline growing on a newer rock from an older encrusted rock. The consensus was to scrap some coraline off the old rock and sprinkle/place the coraline frags on the new rock....even try and cut some sheets of coraline and place on newer rock.

Well....today I tried to scrap and/or cut..... I really could not get any decent size chunks of coraline off with an exacto-knife.

I ended up getting a flathead screwdriver to scrap and GOUGE the backside of my old encrusted rock....and then swooshed the small particles off the rock so it floated around inside the tank.

I HAVE A POWERFILTER SYSTEM...SO I REMOVED THE FILTER-PADS BUT LEFT THE WATER FLOWING.

1) So...am I doing this correctly?
2) How long do I keep my powerfilters fliter-pads out?

hehe just leave it be, in time your tank, the LR and everythng will be covered and you will be scrappign to see the corals by then.

but yes using a razor blade or Credit crad is a good way of scraping the sides. where it lands it usally will grow

just scraping the corraline releases spores into the water column. these spores will find barren places on the glass/LR and start growing.

yes, you are doing it right.
