domino and featherduster

has this happened to anyone else. I have two domino damsels in my 75 gal. new tank 3.5 months old. I have about 90 lbs of live rock and a few inhabitants. Getting ready for some corals by mid august. One of my dominos has adopted my feather duster and is trying to play host. The feather duster does not retract but stays open while the damsel just gets in there and does his thing. I had been thinking about getting him a Sebae anemone but will this be a problem now??

Yes, many Dascyllus are known to associate with anemones, coral ---or in your case, the nearest thing passable.

Fine-branchy rubble serves just as well, though.
The relationship between Dascyllus and refuge is not as deep or dependent as that between true anemonefish (clownfish) and anemones.

Regardless, there's this simple point of view to offer:

If they have a good thing going....
Why mess with it?

I suggest reseaching sebae anemones, the damsels dont need them and they aren't the easiest anemones to keep. If you choose to do so you need to set the tank up to suit the anemone

I agree with Horge and Doug, no use really for the damsels to have an anemone, especially if your tank isn't set up for one.

I don't know how big your damsels are but I had a very small true perc that adopted a feather duster as a host. The feather didn't seem to mind him much either and the clown was small enough that when the feather duster closed up with that swirling motion, the clown would go round and round with it. Always made me laugh
