Question

does this sound doable?

I find that everytime i hit this one LFS that I am drawn to a 90Gallon corner tank. It fits the corner but has a rounded front. I believe it is only 22"deep so I believe I could light it sufficienly. I was thinking of a barrier lagoon with thr rock sloping from the corner out to the curved front. I'll bet I cvould get a significant area of sandy bottom for lagoon species. Other than the poor access to the back does anyone see a problem with this.

22 inches is pretty deep IMO... I've seen a 40 gallon corner tank, so I have an idea what you're are talking about. It would work for a lagoonal tank if you kept to softies and low light critters, otherwise I would think you would have to go MH to light it sufficently for light-loving critters.

It sounds like a kick-@$$ tank if you are careful...I'd give it a shot. But then I would give EVERYTHING a shot.

I just looked at the same tank while paying for my new tank. As far as the 22" depth goes it won't be bad when you add sand. I sure liked the look of it but was wondering how you'd work at the back of the tank but I'm sure you'll figure it out .

Merry Christmas!

I think a corner tank gives you some very interesting options that you don't get with other tanks. Namely more front to back depth. I have two corners in my living room which are unused and a corner tank would fit nicely there. My 120 is 24" high and I have no problem with soft cuttings that I keep in the sandbed under VHO.

Thanks for the replies. I have a corner in mind but I believe it will have to wait as I will be moving in the next six months. However, I will find a corner in the new pad and go from there.

Are the corner tanks actually pie shaped or ar the backs flat but narrower than the front?
I think a 90 corner tank would be a nice addition if you could set it up in a corner you could have an access from the back side like in a laundry room or a bathroom. You could hide the life support system back there to make maint a whole lot easier.
Hmmmm a pair of 90 corner tanks with a 180 in wall in the center would make a sweet setup.
Later gotta go buy lottery tickets

Doug,

They are 1/4 circles with a true 90 degree angle. I was thinking of a corner that is adjacent o the laundry room. There is a large lithograph on the wall and I could easily remove a section of the wall behind it and just hide it with the lithograph. I am starting to make some skethches and am giving this serious thought.

Being able to access the back and maybe a remote sump arrangement is a good plan. That way just the tank os showing in the display room. I need more lottery tickets
