Does this montipora look okay?

This was some encrusting montipora that "hitchhiked" in on a mushroom rock that I bought. I wanted to give it as good a chance as possible under my VHO's so I chiseled it off the rock and epoxied it to another rock up high. When it was on the mushroom rock it was completely brown but ever since I put it on the top of the tank it has turned a slightly bluish green with the polyps still brown. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how it is doing from a picture. It is hard to focus and blow up but this picture sort of shows the polyps but not really the color. Does it look like it is making it? It has been in there for about 2 1/2 weeks so far.

So good polyp extension = Happy montipora? I am still very new to all of this. Interestingly enough....the astrea's that are on either side of it have cleaned all of the algae around the monti but have not knocked it off. I have pieces of this montipora epoxied to different spots all over the tank. I am hoping that at least a few of them will be in areas that they like and then I can move the rest of them to those spots.

Looks great! The lighter tips are growth, which is a good sign.

with the rounded and light color edges it makes me think you large piece has a growth edge which is great. When it finishes coloring up I think you will have a really nice monti

Wow I am learning a lot here. So light edges are good and it is coloring up. I need to turn the rock a bit so that I can get a good head on shot of the frag. Right now I have it turned so that it can get the full force of the VHO's, so the canopy and water ripple blocks any photos from the top. I need to start taking weekly shots of it so that I can document any growth. Considering this was a freebie, I am sure enjoying it.
