does anyone have the refugium coming from the main tank?

I was wondering if anyone has their pump coming out of the main tank to the refugium? I have mine that way now and a overflow going to the sump.....the only problem with that if the main pump going back into the tank ever quits I will have about a 25 gallon flood!!!! the only way I can see it to work is to pull water out of the sump to the fuge and from the fuge back to the sump to the main tank...what does everyone think?

sorry I kinda confused myself...lol

Im at work I can later......

basically I have the water flowing from the top of the tank down into my 60 gallon refugium by-way of pump and the water flowing from my refugium to the sump by-way of overflow....

the problem I ran into is if the (sump pump) quits Its still pulling water into the refugium from by-way of pump from the top of the tank and overflowing into the sump causing the sump to overflow into the floor.....(im not sure this is helping any either Geoff) but I was going to run kinda a closed loop deal pulling water out of the sump into the refugium back into the sump then through the skimmers????that way if the main (sump pump) quit It would just recirculate its own water! I just want to make sure Im still gonna benefit from the refugium from doing this???

what I have to do is drill a very small hole on top of the flow valve. This will not create the siphen. It will stop at were the hole is made.

but if the sump pump main pump pulling the overflow water back into the tank was to quit the other pump will still pull water into the refugium causing it to overflow into the sump then overfill into the floor because it is still plugged in...Im thinking worse case if im not home?
