Do you track costs?

How many people keep a journal or otherwise track the costs involved with keeping their reef/tank/aquarium?

I never really thought about keeping track of costs after the initial setup

I track everything. I always have. I think I got it from my mother. So can I blame her for knowing how much this thing cost me??

I really don't want to know. What you don't know can't kill you. And as long as I don't know, there's no way for my wife to find out either, which is always a good thing.

i don't but my wife does. we are in the process of having all new custom cabinets built and installed in the kitchen so i figured i would budget some of that money for a new 180gal. i put about 3500$ aside and my wife thinks i went insane, but she just went out and bought a faucet(yes, just a faucet) for 360$ and i"m the insane one

I track tank perams (tested weekly) and any change or addition, but don't bother to figure out costs. I do write down how much I spent for any livestock I added, but I have never added it up.

I keep all of the receipts, but I haven't added them up in a long time.

I have a general idea and if I really wanted to know a quick perusal of my online statements would tell me. However, I really really don't want to know. Once it exceeded $3,000.00, I knew that I really didn't want to know. I feel guilty enough as it is. At least my husband is as hooked as me now...

If it's something you enjoy together than you are very well off. There is nothing better than shared hobbies between partners. Of course that also means there's nobody to say No.
