DIY Water top off system????

Hey everyone,
I need some help! I am leaving in two weeks for a vacation to Yellowstone and I want to make a top off system for my tank so I don't have to worry about it. Anyway does anyone have diy plans for a gravity fed top off system. (similar to the Nurce system) I would just go buy the Nurce but I just dropped a bunch of cash on a new lighting upgrade for the tank. Thanks for your help...

use air pump lines, tie a knot in it to regular the drips or flow and just put water in a container have it gravity fed into the tank thru the knot. there are other methods, if you want to know...

Whatever you do make sure it runs for a week without problems before you leave. The last thing you want to do is leave your tank with an untested method of topoff., whether it's comercially bought or DIY

The Kent Float valve( <$20) works like the one Delbeek describes but is designed to use in SW environment, I use a similar one from recycled medical device and feed it from a 32 gallon trash can, its sufficient foe 10 days away in summer. What ever yiou choose try it first and dial it in like Bill said, dont add it at the last minute

I use the Kent aquadose unit. It works very well and is very cheap, aorund $20. It comes with a container and IV drip system that you can adjust. I have my hanging from the tank dripping down to my refugium. Here is the link to the Kent website.
