DIY basement sump

Good evening or morning where ever you might be. Has anyone seen DIY basement sump plans? I'm either getting a new 75g and using my 55 for a sump or getting a 100g poly tank for the basement. I could put the 55 in an unused bedroom go through the wall or the basement. Which ever is cheaper. Do not include the price of the seperation that is sure to follow.

The sump for my 95 is in the basement I love it down there No plans though all we did was drill a 4" hole in the floor and run the PCV down

I wish I had a basement ! I would be great to put all that stuff down there. My problem is I start to hit water at 6' then it becomes a pool.

What size pump and how much distance have you got. Did you use the usual methods to avoid lakes?

The pump is a sequence Dart we have about 8-10 feet from the top of the tank to the sump. For avoiding lakes The blue tape is the correct level the sump needs to be at so if the power shuts down the sump won't overflow

Have you got it drilled to break siphon or do you have another method?

The tank is reef ready so when the water goes below the overflow it stops

OK. I guess I need to get this tank drilled. I live pretty close to glass cages. They make good tanks. I can get a 75 with bulkheads for $185. I should do that and then use my 55g for a refu.

you can get rubbermaid horse troughs 100 or 150 gallon very cheap they make great sumps a few of the atlanta reef members have done this (we all have basements) one of the members did 2-150s for a sump and a 100 for the ro/di for water changes there was a tread a while back i think it was in the atlanta reef club forum

I looked into the poly tanks at Tractor Supply, $69.99 for a 100g. If I do that though I still just have my skinny 55g. I think a 75g is a better tank and takes no more room than the 55g.
