Dipping to get rid of critters?

I don't know if what I have is welcome or not, but that same prolific uber frag I got that came with the flatworms is also host to some sort of spider/crabby thing. I had the lights out and turned them on and caught the barest glimpse of something that shape run for cover inside a hole in the side of the base of that frag.

Will dipping it in freshwater for 15-20 seconds cause unwanted critters like that to vacate in distress?

not usually, at least not that fast. but iodine will kill it

When you say Iodine will kill it, in what concentration? Do I put put FW in a container, put some drops of iodine in, then dip, or put iodine directly on the frag, then rinse in a dip of FW?

use it according to directions. every product is a little different. You need to be careful with the stuff. I wouldnt bother with the further stress of freshwater to the coral. just use tankwater and your chosen iodine whether it be Lugols or TMPCC(tropic marin pro coral cure) or ??? to recommended dip concentration

absolutely do not use straight as it will kill the coral too
