dipping new corals

So I have never dipped before so far have been luck but no longer wish to play rushin roulette anymore. So do you acclimate and once there is about a gallon of water add the dip and the coral? I use seachem. I wan't this to be as less stress as possible. One more day till I pick up my frogspawn! Pics tomarrow!

I personally just poor the water the coral came in into a small bucket,.. Mix up some TMPCC real quick, then dip the coral for 12-15 min, remove it, and simply place it in my tank. I figure the iodine dip is way harder on the coral than the lack of acclimation would be.

I am going to be setting up a Coral Q tank very soon,... Some people have mentioned intrest in how one is setup, so I decided I'd take some pics and post a thread on it.

Unfortunatly the tank I usually put new corals in is inhabited by a nasty damsel that loves to pick at things. Usually my corals go in the pod for a couple of weeks to make sure they are healthy to go in the 90. My fish qt no longer has a light cause the kids knocked the fixture in the water and it blew. I figure the dip should get rid of any nasties. I have never had problems with disease or nasty hitchhikers before but I have alot more corals now and would be really upset for something to happen now. Eventually the pod will be strickly coral qt.

I go through a long process. I acclimate, then take water from my sump and use that water for the dip bucket, after a 10-15 minute dip I dip again in fresh tank water (in another bucket) then place in QT. It's a PITA, I like Wiskeys' way better, but never tried it.
