PinPoint pH meters are the best on the market, they cost a bit more than the one you linked to but are very accurate and well built.

I use the Milwaukee and haven't had any problems. I have heard that theis pH controllers only have a high set point though and not a low set point if you wanted to control a calcium reactor. http://www.championlighting.com/prod...cat=531&page=1

Oh ya, digital PH Is the way to go, if proper calibrated and maintained it is the most accurate way to measure. I have a Reef Fanatic Digital PH controller and it is really cool, I don't have anything to control, but it is still cool.

Its nice to always just know what your ph is. Can give you a heads up to some problems so you can fix thjem before they become serious. I use pinpoint as well. Pinpoint PH controller on my tank with a C reactor and Pinpoint monitor on the tank i simply dose.

Your PH tracks other things, you don't want to directally effect it, but abnormaly low or high PH can be indctive of other problems, like low or high Alk.

The only other digital instrament worth it's salt is Temprature, and ORP, I have heard the others are junk for various reasons.

can you leave the probe in the tank continuously, or do you only use it when you want to take a reading ?

how often do they need recalibration ?

J.

You can leave it in constantly, or you can use it for quick testing if need be (the probe must be kept from drying tho).

I recalibrate every month to two. It usually isn't off more than .01ppm.
