I've been a part of your excellent site since 2/27/01. Only made 16 posts, however, spend most of my time reading other peoples questions/problems/concerns and find your information and that of your other subscribers very usefull.

Of all the different posts on your site, I find the ones like JMOR's most recent "What salt do you use?" the most usefull. While I find someone elses problems or concerns similar to my own, I feel it is invaluable to know what other reef keepers do with their tanks.

With all due respect to The Reef Tank, if I was to make a suggestion it would be for the moterators and senior reefers to create this type of post on a regular basis using your clever "sticky" feature. Of course I could just post them myself, but I bet you experienced ones could come up with more interesting "survey" type questions than I could ever think of.

Just a thought. Keep up the great work.

Not that the moderators don't have anything else to do... but maybe a section that we can post polls of some sort that shows what everyone uses on there tanks. Like salt, lighting, skimmer or not, those type of things. Maybe a new section in the archives dedicated to these beginner questions that may be useful to us. Something we could go to reference that is readily accessable. I know searchs work once in a while but I still have to weed through the post and sometimes still don't find anything. Just a thought....

We could easily archive polls like this int the appropriate spot in archives. Trying to keep separate forums to a minimum, other wise they tend to get ignored

Excellent idea. We can easily start up a "what kind of..." once a week or so.

Archiving is a slow and manual process. We will try to increase the number of threads in our archives.

Ditto what Doug said about seperate forums. We tend to have a "lazy" group that does best hanging out in one forum .
