dead domino

hey all

i had 2 yellow tailed damsels then added 2 3dot domino damsels after 2 weeks, week 3 1 domino died, week 4 2nd domino vanished lol, i removed every thing from tank and still cant find, all 4 damsels were same size, tested water and was perfect, they been eating proper and no over feed,
why both died?
cant find 2nd dead fish, did yellow tailed eat? if didnt eat will the dead fish in tank raise amonia? and if will, how solve?

hi welcome to TRT,

the yeallow tails will harrass the dominos. they are all family members but dont like each other too much.
it is possible thaat he jumped out or is stuck somewhere or eaten ( some what).
yes as time goes by the Amm. level can raise up if he is in fact dead and still in the tank.
if you levels start to rise up. have water ready to do a water change.

How long has the tank been set up, and how large is it? A small dead fish like a damsel normally won't be a huge impact to the overall tank quality, but it could if it's a smaller tank. If you have any crabs or snails, though, they easily could have consumed it.

well, 1 month old 50G tank, 1 thing i forgot to mention, it happened when i start adding calcium in to water but was as per directions.

your tank is very young. dont add anything else to it yet.
