Cycling timing questions

i know i should know this, but have not set up a tank from scratch in forever. how long does it take for the coraline algae to start growing after setting up a tank. i just started my 125G cycling about 6 weeks ago and was wondering about when I should start seeing it around.

also, how long does this silly diatom bloom last. it does some really funky stuff with the top layer of a DSB.

the one good thing about the power outage i had was it really sped up the maturation of the DSB. since there was nothing in it but a few pounds of LR i just let it sit and go anaerobic (sp?) and boy did the bubble layer drop during that time.

i will not be putting anything "live" in it until the middle of Jan. i have learned the go slow all to well.

i did not see coraline growth for about three months and i think it is still "matureing" everyday more purple and less green
