The answer is 42.
Well, now this question is a little vague. Rock is so different in shape and life forms and dead life forms and handling during shipping and handling during holding and handling by you. I like to buy
uncured rock because to me its like buying a juvenile fish, I get to see the whole process of acclimation and growth. Plus it's cheaper.
Someone will come along with a better answer (hi Doug1

) but I would guess
- Allow two extra weeks (give or take) for uncured to do it's thing.
- The "instant ocean" label doesn't mean what it says, per se...
- I heard that when you see algae begin to grow (usually brown diatoms) that the tank has reached the final stages of the initial
nitrogen cycle. Watch for a drop in nitrates at this point to a reasonable level, then begin with cleanup crew critters (detritivores and algae grazers), then fishes, then corals, then anemones, etc...
