cycling

I started my tank about four weeks ago and monitor Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and PH closely. It is a 55 gallon Hex with 15 lbs of live rock and not live sand. I also have a trickle wet/dry filter and protein skimmer. I have been testing my 2-3 times a week for last four weeks but have not seen a spike in Ammonia. I do see the spike in Nitrite, it went up to as high as 0.8 but back down to 0.3. I currently have 5 damsels and 1 yelloe tang. Is my water cyle? I am also thinking about getting more live rocks this week. I am getting brown algae on my rocks, what can I do about this?

any info would be appreicated

this is norma..But you really need to reurn that yellow tang to the lfs...the tank is not mature enough for him to survive...If you don't return the tang he will almost certainly die.....Might wanna do maybe a 5-10 gallon water change wouldn't hurt any..just make sure your using ro/di water or at least ro water...Dan

With what I have, how much longer do you think it will take to cycle. I assume as soon as Nitrite goes to 0. Another thing is that is is really hard to test Ammonia because it gets cloudy as soon as I put test solution 1 in the tube.
