Cycle/not to cycle a Q-tank?

Dear Buddies,

I'm some kind of lost in between. I had set up a 10g Q-tank on Friday intending to take 3 firefish home. Just a few questions: (1) can I use all the water from my display tank? (2) is 2 weeks good enough/bacterially colonied for the HOB filter placed in the sump? (3) do I have to wait for 1 week or so before I put the poor guys in? (4) do I have to feed the fishless Q-tank during the week or so? (5) could it be better off to do a "cycle" process with the Q-tank? Awiating your expert advices.

Best Regards,

Jimmy WONG

if possible use the water rom the main display. yes the filters that you had sitting in the sump are good to go...
try to keep the QT the same as the main display ( parameter wise)
fill the tank up and check everything.. know you willhave to do some water changes during the QT time..you dont need a substrate in it..

Yes main display water make sure to monitor the water for ammonia
at first to make sure of no problems have water on hand for water changes.
