cyanide poisoning symptoms ??

what are the syptoms of fish that have been caught using cyanide. i have lost four fish in the past month that have had the same symptoms. the have great color, are eating and even getting fatter. then one day they seem to lose motor skills. cannot control their swimming. i have even seen a couple still eating when the food comes their way. i have lost a purple tang ,a yellow tang, and a gorgeous mated pair of orange diamond gobies. the odd thing is that the gobies came from a different lfs than the other two.
my water parameters are:
0,amm,nitrites and 0 nitrates. ph8.2, temp 80.5 degrees,salinity 1.026.

i have been keeping fish for many years and have used the same lfs for most of that time. i have never lost four fish in a month. i am hard pressed to think if i have ever lost 4 fish in a years time!!

please help me out here.

VERY ANGRY GARY

That does sound like cyanide. I think that mostly happens with fish from the Indonesia areas. Seems like I read that somewhere. The reason that it can happen from different LFS is because LFS in the same area probably buy their stock from the same wholesaler. You might do some research and see where cyanide is used to gather fish.

i know for a fact the two lfs did not get their fish from the same suppier. one imports their own fish. getting shipments from all.

I don't think it is cyanide that killed them, I think most fish are caught with nets these days and to buy fish from 2 LFS and have them all die, or that many die , I think You got a sick one or two fish and now it is in the tank and the other fish are getting sick. or parasites. JMO

I recently had a major outback in my tank from one fish I added and didn't QT, I alway QT the fish but this time I didn't. I lost two of mine. Long story as to why I didn't.

I'd wait a few months before stocking again, in case it's something else.

And are you going to buy from a different source now?

AG it really does sound like an internal parasite that has spread.
